The Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, has inaugurated the reconstituted Ministerial Advisory Board of the Ministry of Transport in Accra, marking a renewed effort to harness expert guidance to address sector challenges and drive reforms.
Speaking at the ceremony, he underscored the Board’s strategic role in supporting the Government’s Reset Agenda, highlighting the recent merger of the Ministries of Transport and Railway Development under Executive Instrument (E.I.) 1 of 2025, which has expanded the Ministry’s mandate to cover roads, railways, aviation, maritime transport, and inland waterways.
“This is not just a ceremonial event; it marks the official start of an important partnership as the Government seeks to reset and build the Ghana we all want together,” the Minister noted.
He explained that the Board, established under the Civil Service Act, 1993 (PNDC Law 327), is expected to strengthen engagement with service users and provide advice on policy formulation, planning, and strategic direction.
Hon. Nikpe emphasized that the Board’s work will align with the 24-hour economy policy to achieve a more business-friendly, resilient, and sustainable transport sector, assuring them of the Ministry’s full cooperation and commitment to strategic private sector partnerships, based on his confidence in their expertise to generate innovative solutions.
